Terminology management
Strengthen your brand identity with consistent terminology in every language.

Stronger brand identity in every language
A strong visual identity is important for every brand and is reflected in your logo, brand colours and fonts.
But do you have the same consistency in your written content?
With custom glossaries created just for you – consisting of terminology that is specifically used in your materials – you can make sure that all of your content is written consistently in every language you publish content in.
A custom glossary includes terms in your original language along with the corresponding approved translations in every other language you use. Without a reliable source of truth like a company-approved glossary, writers and translators may inadvertently choose different words at different times to refer to the same thing. And this can cause confusion for readers and potential visitors.
My background in terminology management: I spent two years working at the European HQ of Google as the sole terminologist in charge of the glossaries used by translation teams working in over 70 languages.

How it works
First, I will go through your original-language materials and draw up a list of terms that I think may be complex for translators to handle.
I will then check any existing English materials you have and identify how these terms were previously translated into English. It’s often the case that a single term may be translated in multiple different ways by different translators, or possibly even by the same translator. Having an approved glossary translation will inform translators which term to use, so your English content will then be consistent. It will also focus the attention of your original-language writers on the words they choose.
Finally, I will compile a list of original-language terms along with definitions and approved English translations in a database or spreadsheet. Approved translations in additional languages can also be added by collaborating with your translation teams working on those languages.
