Transcreation
As a professional English translator working in fields where creativity is paramount, almost all of the translations I do are, in essence, transcreations. The word ‘transcreation’ is a portmanteau of ‘translation’ and ‘creation’ and refers to a type of translation where the focus is more on using fluent, engaging language to evoke the same emotions in the reader rather than on recreating a 1:1 translation based rigidly on the source text.
This is particularly effective in sales and marketing content.
